When you hear “book fair,” you probably think of long tables, big name publishers, and a hefty price tag for families.

But what if I told you there’s a way to bring joyful, representative, and community-rooted book fairs to your school—without the overwhelm?

Enter: the Sugar Cookie Books Fair 💛

This year, I’ve hosted these pop-up fairs at oft overlooked schools, preschools, and daycare centers—and the response? Pure magic.

Here’s what makes it work (and how your school can get in on it):

📚What is a Sugar Cookie Books Fair?

It’s a traveling, curated book fair featuring my children's books—all centered around representation, joy, and career exposure. Think stories that affirm Black and brown children, bilingual editions, and books that help kids see themselves in the future.

I personally set up and run each fair, creating an inviting experience that feels like more than just a sale—it feels like a celebration.

🎉 What Makes It Special?

Easy Setup. I handle it all—from logistics to setup and tear-down. Schools just provide the space.

Give-Back Model. A percentage of every sale goes back to the school. It’s a fundraiser and a literacy event.

Meet the Author. Yes, I show up in person. Students and families get to meet me, ask questions, and make real connections with a local author.

Marketing Made Simple. Each school gets a ready-made digital promo kit with graphics, flyers, and announcements to spread the word easily.

Inclusive Titles. From I Have Ten Toes (bilingual edition) to Andrew Learns About Engineers, these are books that reflect kids of all backgrounds—and inspire pride, joy, and possibility.

🙋🏽‍♀️ Who Is It For?

  • Preschools and early childhood centers

  • Elementary schools

  • Charter networks

  • Literacy nights and family events

  • PTO/PTA leaders looking for unique fundraising ideas
